cans - dirt - questions
The sun is back! It was a gorgeous this week in sunny Southern Oregon! We were hoping we could go skiing but we were too busy. So much for semi-retirement.
And the full moon made Gunnar and Karl go nuts as well as some of the other critters around here!
This week we got up close and personal with the lighting needs of the house. My neck is sore from looking up at the cans and trying to figure out if they are in the right place and the right amount.
Gary is busy looking for garbage! He has captured most of the nails with the giant magnet so he needed something else to do. He was also getting tired of redesigning the great room so he got up on the ladder to take a look around and get a new perspective. This little adventure located a coffee cup. (He did miss one nail though, as our designer punctured one of her tires. Our designer now parks outside the gates and saves the reserved parking for the other contractors. It is probably not a bad idea until we buy a metal detector. Any body have one we can borrow? We will share all the gold with you that we mine as well as a few nails. He also has a pretty good butt too!
The chimney is up. Stucco or Stone or as is? It looks big from here, but after 2 more phone calls with our house designer and looking at 150 other chimneys, we think it is okay.
And what color should the facia be? Facia is the board that edges the roof, not the skin on your face, although I never thought we would spend so much time on it.
Are there any emerging designers out there? What the heck are we going to do with this wall? We have the fireplace figured out but what about the cabinets? The walls are 12' tall. We don't have the much stuff so we are going to have to make an adjustment!
See you next week.
