At Your Service?

We have repetitvie motion sickness in our shoulders, hands, thumbs and brains from all the sanding we have been doing. Between us, we have logged about 155 hours of sanding in the last 4 weeks. Yes, we are keeping track.

Here is an updated photo of the Limo Man. Now who wouldn't want this guy as their driver?
Here is driver wannabe, but should probably train in a shorter unit.

Kaycee -Michelle didn't actually drive the car, I had the keys. She just had to see what it felt like.

Anyone interested in sanding?

We have many options to offer.
and the tools are very sophisticated.

While we sand we get to look outside and see the landscaping take shape.

The final stone is now in place. We did an inlay on our front entrance. These guys really get into the detail.

The turkey's are back and have a new habit that is making a big mess. They are leaving nice little deposits on the back patio. At first we thought it was somebody's chewing tobacco. We think they are protesting the landscaping. They are tricky little buggers and rather elusive, but Gary has a plan if he can catch one.

Thanksgiving anyone?

And now...

Stories from the Limo Man.

I did my first winery tour on Saturday. It was the best day of work I have ever had.

1) ValleyView Winery

2) John Michael Champagne Cellars

3)Bridgeview

4) Wooldridge Creek

5) Troon Vineyard

6) Schmidt Family Vineyards

It was a late morning pick up for only two people, a mother and daughter. I could tell that the mother and daughter had a very good relationship from the get go and it was going to be a special day. There was a special bond between them and it became more evident as the day moved on.

In the car there were lots of chuckles and laughter as I drove out to the Applegate valley. They wanted an early lunch so I called ahead to find the perfect restaurant in the metropolis of Applegate. There was a tea house open and they loved it. They appreciated me calling ahead to find the perfect restaurant. I didn't tell them it was the only one open.

I, in turn went across the road to the bakery and bought a couple of loaves of bread. I couldn't make up my mind which one was the best, so I bought 2 loaves and got in a long conversation with the locals.

I felt a little out of place in these crossroads in my suit and tie on a Saturday afternoon. After the bakery I decided to play it up and went over to talk to the hippie who was selling stuff out of the back of his van. We got in a long conversation about Ebay and how they have raised the rates and of course I told him all about my sibling who makes millions selling books and art. I told him he should move down to Green Valley, Arizona, where all the old farts live to get the good deals. The dude next to him in a very old green, dirty, dented pickup was selling a cord of wood but I told him I was burning propane. Besides my clients didn't want to ride back to town in the trunk.

About this time my clients were coming out of the tea house so I rushed off to pick them up. Wewent up to the Champagne cellars where I had called ahead. They were very impressed.

We continued on to several more vineyards. It was a beautiful fall day. The air was cool, but the sun felt warm even with a slight breeze in the air. We passed green pastures, changing tree colors, cows, horses, wild turkeys, geese, egrets, an occasional deer, and of course your dead southern oregon skunk in the road.

My favorite winery was the last one, The Schmidt Family vineyard. It made me feel like I was at home and they came out to my limo to give me a fine bottle of Merlot wine. If you ever get a chance, go visit Judy and Cal. Judy showed me the wine tasting room while my clients were tasting her wine. It is a beautiful setting in the heart of the Applegate Valley. They designed all the landscaping and buildings themselves to fit in with the environment. I wish I had a photo.

Did you all know that Michelle's grandfather's name was Schmidt. He changed his name to Smith when he moved here from Germany. Anyway, a little bit of trivea.

I played photographer several times that day for those who wanted their picture taken. I am always trying to stir up new business for my boss. I even got my picture taken by my clients to help them remember this great day.

We arrived back in Eagle Point about 5:00 p.m. with a bootie full of wine. I carted the stash for my clients to the door. They said it was a special day for them and thanked me as I walked bsck to the car.

This sure beats finance work. It may not pay the same but it is fun to make someone happy.

Until next week.

Are you looking for a pig?

We had some big excitement in the metropolis of Jville this week. We were on our way to the house when we passed a large black pig grazing on the side of the road.

About 1/2 a mile earlier, we passed our local constable who was parked on the side of the road and appeared to be looking for something.

Putting the two together we surmised that the above mentioned pig had been seen by various other local inhabitants and that the police were on the hunt!

Being good citizens, we drove back to where the police officer was. I cautioned Gary about wording our discovery carefully, however Gary couldn't resist and made the following comment but with due respect; "Are you looking for a pig?" After a slight pause and stifled chuckle on our part, we lead the officer to the oinker. As we left he was trying to figure out how to get the 200+ pound swine back to his owners. Only in J"Ville! It was hilarious! By the way this pig could really move fast.

We have some of the outdoor lighting installed and Our driveway is almost done. They are pouring around a slot drain at the end of the driveway. It is a commercial one as we didn't want to have any problems with drainage.

Gary and I are now sanding in order to move things along. (Our hourly rate depends on whether or not we are faster or slower than our painters.) We need to do the math. Did you know that painters tape their fingertips to keep them from bleeding? We haven't gotten there yet, but today was a test. We have the smoothest fingertips around. The blood comes next if not the tape.

G takes the high road while M takes the low road. We always have to check out every nook and cranny. It is amazing the presents we have found. It is also a good way to find out what needs to be done that hasn't.

The outside landscaping is underway. The machines they have are amazing. Gary wants to order one of these machines with all the many attachments or maybe we will go into the landscaping business.

and now from the Limo Man

We have been so busy sanding and meeting with contractors and subcontractors that the Limo man does not have time to capture in writing all his wonderful stories. But if you want to reserve some space in the Limo, Gary's boss would be more than happy to book you a romantic evening with roses or winery tour with your favorite friends. It only happens in Southern Oregon.

More next week

Till Then - Happy trails to you - until we meet again.
