3 Day Weekend

The stoning continues.

Color Trauma- do I really want Macadamia. What tone?

... and how does it look with the wood?

We are still searching for the right stone for the fireplace.

Our friend Andy at his 50th birthday party.

It's sad to grow old, but nice to ripen.

The shirt says that in dog years he is dead.

Gee, I can't wait till I turn 50...
Now what???

It hasn't been a fun week!

Taxes

We hear they are hiring new tax assessors in Jackson county, but you don't have to let them inside. (Gary was offered a job as an assessor a while back but it didn't pay anything and he wasn't allowed to assess our property.) So we decided to take a different approach.
Like it?
The interior is coming right along. The texture is finished and we decided not to paint. Just leave it as is. Too many decisions.

We need help on the fireplace. Should we do stone or wood or both or leave it as it is? Your comments are needed! If you don't respond we know you don't care.

By the way we misquoted the amount of stone in the driveway last weekend. There is 60,000 lbs, not 40,000 lbs.
We aren't too picky but the stone above the right window is coming off. It doesn't fit with the rest of it. The wall will look better once it is cleaned up and acid washed.

until next week...

Everybody.........

...must get stoned!

Well, they'll stone ya when you're trying to be so good,They'll stone ya just a-like they said they would. They'll stone ya when you're tryin' to go home. Then they'll stone ya when you're there all alone. But I would not feel so all alone,Everybody must get stoned. They'll stone ya when you're at the breakfast table. They'll stone ya when you are young and able. They'll stone ya when you're tryin' to make a buck. They'll stone ya and then they'll say, "good luck."Tell ya what, I would not feel so all alone,Everybody must get stoned.
(Boy, are you lucky I haven't figured out how to get audio on this blog!)

Have you ever seen so much stone? About 20 tons!

The last of the pink wrap. We were sure getting tired of looking at it.
Did we mention that the spiders are pretty good size down here? Just the other day Gary about put his hands on one but it wasn't quite this big.

We did our first bike ride of the season today. A perfect day, about 84. Iris's are popular flowers here. I think it's because the deer don't eat them. Life is sweet. This is one smiling happy bunny.
BTW: We have tickets for the following Britt festival Events:

Linda Ronsdat 6/18/06 & Chicago 8/30/06. (For those of you whose memories step back that far. For some of you, this is a stretch isn't it?

Just think about what you were doing back then. This summer would be a perfect time to bring back those memories (if there are any still there.) There are still tickets left for the cheap seats (lawn chairs or blankets with wine and picnic dinner). We'll supply the picnic and luxury overnight accommodations. Tickets are $46 a piece -what a deal! Anyone care to join us?

Who's a Slacker???

I hear those Hill people are slacking off and not doing their weekly blog duty. Well, let me assure you that has been taken care of. Your don't mess with Chow Chow!
The wall board process continues. This is taking much longer than we thought but we appreciate the attention to detail. This is the master bedroom.
This is the main hall looking from the dining room.
Here are a couple of the guys hard at work. Check out the high heals.

Of course you have to stop and take in the view every now and then.
The garage.
Looking towards the great room.

The kitchen and nook.

This weekend we met with the cabinet maker. It is much easier to move into a house and figure out what goes in which cabinet as opposed to starting from scratch.

Last weekend we finalized our inside paint colors. We are using various tones of macadamia as well as whip, cabernet, bordeaux, sage, and pecan. Sounds more like a food and wine menu than paint colors. That was the fun part.

All that food and wine talk is making us hungry. Time for dinner. See you next week.
